Born in Lancashire, I'd never seen a "Babby's Yed" cooked in a basin. Both my grandmothers used "muslins" which were often old white cotton pillowcases adapted for this use, and boil washed within an inch of their lives.
Having looked at what feels like a thousand recipes on the WWW, I've yet to find one that cooks S&K pud in cloth. Does anyone know why?
